Leadership Team

Mark Deacon is Senior Lecturer in Science Education at The University of Brighton and is Subject Lead for Biology at The University of Buckingham.  Mark was a school teacher for 30 years before moving into Teacher Training. For a significant part of his career, Mark was in leadership teams appointed to rapidly improve underperforming schools. This left Mark with a keen interest in best teaching practice, and he has worked alongside STEP Academy Trust to set up their teacher training organisation. Mark has extensive experience of serving on school boards and brings professional knowledge, experience and key contacts to support both Telscombe Cliffs Academy and Peacehaven Heights Academy.
