Leadership Team

Mr. Peter Ediss is the Interim Head Teacher at Telscombe Cliffs Academy. This is a post he has held since September 2023 after spending the previous six years at the school as Deputy Head Teacher. Prior to this, Peter held a Deputy Head Teacher position at Manor Primary School in Uckfield for three years. He achieved the National Qualification in Headship in 2020. Passionate about education throughout his life, Peter started his teaching career in 2006 after completing a PGCE at the University of Brunel the year before. Like Dr. Mills, Peter holds a degree in Economics and used this qualification to begin a career in the pensions industry after graduating from the University of Hertfordshire in 2000. Whilst Peter has particular pedigree in running and table tennis, his 'talent' outside of the teaching profession lies in general knowledge quizzing. The lifelong pursuit has seen him lock horns with some of the leading quiz players in the UK and he counts two of television's Chasers amongst his quiz team mates. His proudest moment was winning the Brain of London in 2016, defeating three quarters of the England A team along the way. These days, Peter uses his quizzing background to reinforce the importance of knowledge in helping children to deepen their contextual understanding of the curriculum.
